Submagic Pricing per Month: The Plans Explained

Starter ($19 a month, or $12 billed yearly). 45 credits, which Submagic equates to 15 videos, each up to 2 minutes long. AI auto captions, text-based trimming, free B-roll and audio, and 1080p export at 30 FPS without a watermark.

Pro ($39 a month, or $23 billed yearly). 120 credits, or 40 videos of up to 5 minutes. Adds Storyblocks B-roll and audio, AI auto zooms, removal of bad takes and silences, AI clean audio, publishing and analytics for social accounts, and a brand kit.

Business ($69 a month, or $41 billed yearly). 300 credits, or up to 100 videos of up to 30 minutes each, per member. Adds 4K and 60 FPS export, custom templates, logos and brand assets, a custom words dictionary, priority support and rendering, publishing from several social accounts, and 100 minutes a month of API use.

Custom. Priced by sales, with custom video and length limits, member counts, API limits, SSO and a customer success manager.

API minutes beyond the plan are sold as monthly packs, from 250 minutes for $57 a month down to $0.10 a minute on the largest packs.

What Submagic Really Costs per Month

Because a plan is a number of videos, the cleanest way to read the price is per video:

Plan Videos a month Monthly billing Per video Yearly billing Per video
Starter 15 $19 $1.27 $12 $0.80
Pro 40 $39 $0.98 $23 $0.58
Business 100 $69 $0.69 $41 $0.41

The per-video figures are our arithmetic from the page, assuming every video in the plan is used. Yearly billing saves up to 41%, and the page prints the saving per plan: $84 a year on Starter, $192 on Pro and $336 on Business.

Where It Gets Expensive

Length limits push you up a tier. A 3-minute video does not fit Starter at all, and a 10-minute one needs Business. The length limit, not the video count, is often what decides the plan. Check the length of what you actually publish before comparing prices: a creator who posts 10-minute explainers is a Business customer on Submagic whatever their volume.

Per-member pricing. Each person on the team is billed a full plan, so a three-person team on Pro pays $117 a month on monthly billing.

Unused videos. The page does not say that unused credits carry over, so a slow month is lost capacity.

ViralDrop meters research, not editing, and it counts actions rather than videos. Credits you leave unspent carry into the next month while you stay subscribed, up to two months' worth, and a run that fails gives its credits back.

Submagic Pricing vs Alternatives on the Same Workload

A short-form editing workload: caption and export 30 videos a month, each under 2 minutes, without a watermark. That is up to 60 minutes of video. Prices checked on September 30, 2026.

Tool Cheapest plan that covers it Monthly cost
Submagic Pro, 40 videos (Starter stops at 15) $39, or $23 billed yearly
OpusClip Starter, 150 credits at 1 credit per minute $15, monthly only
Vizard Creator, 600 credits at 1 credit per minute $29, or $14.50 billed yearly
ViralDrop Does not burn in captions; it exports SRT and VTT subtitle files —

On minutes alone, OpusClip Starter is the cheapest here. Submagic's case is its editing: captions, zooms, B-roll and silence removal tuned for talking-head shorts.

Submagic Pricing: FAQ

Is there a Submagic free trial?

Yes. Submagic's help center says you can upload 3 short videos for free and edit them as you want. Downloading without a watermark needs a subscription, and the pricing page says no card is required to start.

How much does Submagic cost per month?

On September 30, 2026, Submagic cost $19, $39 or $69 per member a month for Starter, Pro and Business on monthly billing, or $12, $23 and $41 a month billed yearly.

What is a free alternative to Submagic?

For captions, compare free tiers: OpusClip's free clips carry a watermark and Vizard's free plan exports at 720p. For researching which videos to make, ViralDrop gives new accounts free welcome credits.

Which AI caption generator is the best?

It depends on your videos. Submagic is built for short talking-head clips with animated captions and zooms; OpusClip and Vizard cut long videos into captioned clips. Try each on the same video before paying. For a plain subtitle file, ViralDrop turns a link into SRT.

Is Submagic worth it?

It is worth it if you publish several short videos a week and value captions, zooms and B-roll done in minutes. If you post a few videos a month, the per-video cost on Starter is high.
