Opus Clip pricing is simple once you know that 1 credit is 1 minute of uploaded video. Free gives 60 credits a month with a watermark, Starter is $15 a month for 150 credits, and Pro is $29 a month, or $14.50 billed yearly, for 300.
OpusClip is best for turning long videos into short clips. Skip it if you want to understand why other people's shorts went viral: ViralDrop does that from $9 a month.

OpusClip has three self-serve plans and a Business plan priced by sales.
Free ($0, "free forever"). 60 credits a month, clips rendered at up to 1080p, auto reframe and AI captions with emoji and keyword highlights. The catch is written on the plan card: clips carry a watermark, there is no editing, and after 3 days a clip can no longer be exported.
Starter ($15 a month). 150 credits a month, AI clipping with a Virality Score, animated captions, auto-posting to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels, the editor, one brand template, filler and silence removal, and no watermark. The page says Starter is only sold monthly.
Pro ($29 a month, or $14.50 a month billed yearly). 300 credits a month, and unused credits roll over for 2 months. It adds a team workspace with 2 seats, 2 brand templates, 6 social account connections, AI B-roll, export to Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, multiple aspect ratios, a social scheduler, on-demand credit top-ups, speech enhancement, video dubbing and limited API access.
Business (custom). Priority processing, custom credits, seats and social accounts, dedicated storage, priority support in a dedicated Slack channel, full API access and enterprise security. Its price is not published, so a team that needs more than two seats has to ask for a quote.
Both paid plans start with a free trial that the page says needs no credit card.
A credit is one minute of the video you upload, not one clip out of it. So the plan you need depends on how many minutes of source footage you feed it:
| Source video a month | Credits used | Cheapest plan that covers it |
|---|---|---|
| 60 minutes | 60 | Free, with watermark |
| 150 minutes | 150 | Starter, $15 a month |
| 300 minutes | 300 | Pro, $29 a month or $14.50 billed yearly |
| More than 300 | 300+ | Pro with top-ups, or Business |
On Opus Clip pricing per year, the yearly Pro plan is the best value per minute on the page: $174 a year for up to 3,600 minutes, if you use them. Starter costs more per minute than Pro billed yearly, which is worth knowing before you pick the smaller plan to save money.
ViralDrop is not priced by the minute of footage. A plan is a monthly pool of credits and each action has a fixed price: analysing a short video costs 5 credits, and a transcript costs 2 credits per started 10 minutes. For short-form research, the bill follows how many videos you study, not how long your own recordings are.
Long raw footage. A two-hour livestream uses 120 credits before a single clip is kept. Upload two unedited streams like that and Starter's 150 credits are gone.
Team seats and accounts. Pro includes 2 seats and 6 social accounts. Anything more is a Business conversation, and Business prices are not published.
Short videos you did not make. OpusClip is built to cut your own long videos. If most of what you look at is other creators' 30-second posts, you would be paying per minute for a job the tool was not designed to do.
Clips that expire. On the Free plan a clip you do not export within 3 days is gone. Treat Free as a trial of the workflow, not a place to keep a library, and budget for Starter from the first week you publish seriously.
A common clipping workload: turn four one-hour podcast episodes a month into short clips. That is 240 minutes of source video. Prices checked on September 30, 2026.
| Tool | Plan that covers 240 minutes | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| OpusClip | Pro, 300 credits (1 credit = 1 minute) | $29, or $14.50 billed yearly |
| Vizard | Creator, 600 credits a month (1 credit = 1 minute) | $29, or $14.50 billed yearly |
| Submagic | Business allows videos up to 30 minutes, so each episode must be split first | $69, or $41 billed yearly |
| ViralDrop | Not a clipping tool | — |
On this workload OpusClip and Vizard cost the same, and Vizard's Creator plan leaves room for more minutes. Two differences the price does not show: Vizard's free plan exports at 720p with a 10-minute export limit, while OpusClip's free clips render at up to 1080p; on paid plans Vizard's Creator exports in 4K, and OpusClip's Pro adds 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 aspect ratios and export to Premiere Pro. ViralDrop sits after this step: once your clips are live, it tells you which posts from the competitors you track outperform their account's normal, and an analysis shows why.
Try it on a short from a channel you compete with. New accounts start with free welcome credits.
On September 30, 2026, OpusClip Starter cost $15 a month for 150 credits and Pro cost $29 a month, or $14.50 a month billed yearly, for 300 credits. Business is priced by sales.
Yes. The Free plan gives 60 credits a month, which is 60 minutes of uploaded video. Clips carry a watermark, you cannot edit them, and they stop being exportable after 3 days.
It is worth it if you publish clips from long videos every week, because captions, reframing and scheduling come in one tool. If you mainly study other creators' short videos, you pay per minute for clipping you will not use. Our ViralDrop vs Opus Clip comparison covers that research job.
Not for clipping on OpusClip itself: watermark-free export starts on Starter. ViralDrop does not make clips, but it downloads the original MP4 of a public video, and new accounts get free welcome credits to try it.
No. OpusClip takes long videos in and gives short clips out. Its pricing page lists clip lengths from under a minute up to 15 minutes, and local uploads up to 10GB per video. For captioning short videos you filmed yourself, Submagic's pricing counts videos instead of minutes.
